Ketua Departemen Fisika Dr. Saumi Syahreza membuka Musyawarah Besar XXVII Himpunan Mahasiswa Fisika FMIPA atau Mubes XXVII Himafis. Mubes Himafis yang berlasngung di Aula FMIPA Lt III itu, mengambil tema ” Mewujudkan Regenerasi yang Menjunjung Tinggi Kualitas dan Integritas MenuJu HIMAFIS yang Unggul“. Mubes juga menyampaikan pertanggungjawaban Kepengurusan Himafis periode 2022-2023. Serta membahas perubahan Anggaran Dasar (AD) / Anggaran Rumah Tangga (ART) yang dilaksanakan oleh seluruh mahasiswa fisika. Kemudian menyusun program kerja periode 2023-2024, serta pemilihan Ketua Umum dan Pembentukan Kepengurusan Himafis periode 2023-2024.
Mubes sendiri dilaksanakan selama dua hari, mulai 19 hingga 20 Desember 2023. Ketua Departemen Fisika dalam sambutannya juga menyampaikan pentingya mahasiswa fisika dalam berorganisasi, dengan berorganisasi mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan wawasan-karena salah satu peran mahasiswa adalah sebagai agen perubahan, meningkatkan kemampuan sosial, dengan berorganisasi akan memperluas relasi, ajang melatih diri dalam dunia kerja dan belajar manajemen waktu, artinya selain sukses berorganisasi mahasiswa juga harus mencapai kesuksesan secara akademik, unkapnya dalam sambutan.
